This bronze statue is of a seated Willie Nelson with his guitar. Willie was born in 1933 and is well known as a musician and activist. What you might not know is that he joined the Air Force in 1950 but was later discharged for medical issues.
Since 1972, he’s known for “outlaw country” and has released albums such as Shotgun Willie, and Phases and Stages. Some of his greatest recordings include “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” and “On the Road Again.” Today, he serves as the honorary chairman of the Advisory Board of the Texas Music Project, the official music charity of the state of Texas. He is most known for his founding membership of the Farm Aid program and for marijuana reform.
Stop by and get your picture with this statue of a great American.
