The City of Wellesley is part of the Boston suburbs and is definitely one of the wealthier and more well-to-do in the western area. Apparently the 7th wealthiest city in the United States according to some 2018 data, it is the home of famous Wellesley College and Babson College. Wellesley was settled in the 1630s and was incorporated as a separate city in 1881.
I was here to meet up with friends for dinner and do some exploring. The city is served by the MBTA’s commuter rail on the Framingham/Worcester line. There are are a number of stops in Wellesley including Wellesley Square.
Good retail shopping and lots of restaurants in Wellesley.
Parking in the city can be a challenge but I have to report that during the holiday season, the city suspends collection on their parking meters by covering them with canvas bags imprinted with the message “Compliments of Wellesley.” How cool is that?
