Note that this is not a retail location. You can’t go here and get their product. But you can order it from their website, or better yet. ask your local grocer to carry their stuff. And that’s how I got to try a delicious Jalapeño Lime beef stick which I purchased from Roche Brothers in Boston’s Downtown Crossing. On display at the register, I made an impulse purchase and dang it, they’re excellent.
I love the story of Vermont Smoke & Cure. They only buy natural meats that are raised without antibiotics or added hormones. They work to source the beef in the northeast primarily. The pork and turkey providers are listed on the web site. Their facility is free from “the Big 8 Allergens: Milk, Eggs, Fish, Shelfish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat, Soy.”
So how was it? Delicious. Meaty, of course. A little “go” from the pepper and a little zestiness from the lime. A nice snack as it felt satisfying.
