Igreja de Santo Ildefonso, Porto PT (10-11-2018)

Igreja de Santo Ildefonso was unfortunately not open the three different times I passed through this neighborhood but even from the outside, this 18th century structure is worth a visit. The hand-painted azuleijos depict the life of Saint Ildefonso of Toledo, who died in 667.

It is quite an impressive structure, constructed of granite in the shape of an elongated octagon. There are two bell towers.

There is no parking nearby but it’s a busy pedestrian area near Batalha Square.
